Gary Cooper, Super Duper
Gary Cooper (as Michael Brandon) working his charm onClaudette Colbert (as Nicole de Loiselle) in Bluebeard's Eighth Wife
The result of a Gary Cooper movie marathon (Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Bluebeard's Eighth Wife, Meet John Doe and Ball of Fire) on an obsessive mind like mine:
Frank James Gary Cooper,
Declined playing Rhett Butler
'Cos he thought it would flop
Had he been cast (I’m quite sure)
He would have done a better job
He had gleaming eyes
An adorable face to go with
He could play intense or mild
Acting was his natural gift
He was the handsomest of all
Stewart, Gable or Bogart
Were no match for one so tall,
So alluring, gentle and smart
Shame he wasted his time
With quite as many Western flicks
For no cowboys can ever be as fine
As Professor Potts, John Doe or Mr. Deeds
