Today's Daily Candy London edition reminds us that Marc Jacobs will be opening his first London store tomorrow.
About time too. I often wondered why, across the Atlantic, only Paris had the privilege & pleasure when London's fashion scene (just look at Topshop!) has been so influenced by Jacobs's inspired mixes of cutting edge and retro.
The London store will house Marc Jacobs's main collection, but for those in search of his more affordable yet still as desirable "Marc" line, fret not: I hear that Marc's tiny concession area within Selfridges will be expanded into a larger "store-in-store" concept. I only hope this also means a larger stock of goodies and sizes from now on!

'Marc' at Selfridges already changed from the tiny thing beside Joseph. They took over the area where Miu Miu used to be. So it is a little bit bigger, but still not located in the glamorous 'designer' area. Maybe they'll move again...?
Harrods also offers 'Marc'.
Funny address for Marc Jacobs to open first shop in London though. It will be just beside those things like Holland & Barret and shops that sell the most elegant - and expensive - clothes for traditional English people to travel to their countryside houses...

Agree, the London location does seem a bit too sedate. In Paris the store is located in the Palais Royal galleries, really nice spot!
